In a horizontal steam drum, level transmitter LT measurement is given in P&ID by mm. Followinfs are the alarms setting given:

Measurement in mm In %

LAHH : 1250 mm ---- 96.2%
LAH : 1200 mm ---- 92.1%

NLL : 1050 mm ---- ?

LAL : 900 mm ---- 67.6%
LALL : 350 mm ---- 30%

My question is how can I convert NLL from mm to % of level?

Thank you .

You need to take the vessel datasheet and see what is the total measurement span (distance between the connection nozzles) of the transmitter. Then, the calculation is straightforward: divide the NLL (in mm) with the total distance between the transmitter nozzles, and multiply by 100%. That is your NLL value expressed as percent.
