Hi, i have a refrigeration unit consist of Refrigeration compressor, Refrigerant condenser and Economiser. I want to calculate the overall efficiency of the system. I have the design data (temperature and pressure across everything) but don't know any formula or method to calculate the efficiency.

Hi,
Use the formula of Q = m x Density x Cp x Delt T.
Where
m=mass flow rate (Can be calucalted by taking equal size tapping on outlet line and measure physically) m3/hr.
Cp=Specific heat of used brine solution Kcal/Kg Deg.C.
Delt T=Temperture difference across the chiller in Deg.C.

After getting Q , divide with 3024, can get in TR, compare the value with actual rated capacity.
