Hullo,

I am designing a process utility system for reliability, availability and maintainability. I developed a Markov model to help me in the analysis. However i'd like to know how a steam turbine connected to a boiler and HRSG steam header transits. Is it is possible for it to move directly from hot standby to operation or does it have to first go through start up?

Thanks

A stand-by Steam turbine is kept on slow-roll operation.A Steam turbine can not be kept on hot condition(It will be damaged). To start a Steam turbine from cold stand-still condition to normal operating condition,it may take hours(depends on size & type).
