I am working in Indian Oil Corporation, Mathura Refinery. We will be using MEA in our Propylene Recovery Unit. Now, MEA will be unloaded from tanker in a storage vessel. After unloading, there will be some excess MEA left-over in the unloading hoses. Our worry is:

1.0> How to safely dispose off this MEA? Dow MSDS (and several others) say either go for incineration or consult suitable disposal agencies. Is there any other way?

2.0> Can anyone provide contact details of competent agencies (preferably in India) who deal with safe disposal of MEA?

3.0> My question to the existing users of MEA : What methods are you currently adopting for it;s safe disposal?

4.0> Which Indian Companies are major consumers of MEA?

Respected Sir,

I contacted TAMINCO INDIA - but landed up in an embarassing situation. They snubbed me saying "we have nothing to do with MEA - we only deal with specialty amines - that too only manufacturing and marketing part. We don't have any presentation on amine handling." It seems that there is a confusion or misunderstanding.

Anyway, I am requesting you to kindly help me out - do you have a copy of that nice presentation you talked about. If so, can you please e-mail it to me at senkingshuk36@gmail.com.

Thanking you in advance for your kind response,
Kingshuk Sen
