For my plant design project, I need to separate the syngas containing CO and H2 as i need the CO as feedstock for acetic acid production. I have read that i can use the cold box to separate CO and H2. Does anyone have more info on this cold box works to help me in doing the simulation using hysys. for example the operating condition like pressure and temperature. Or is there any other way of producing carbon monoxide ?

Thank you in advance

I think what lavi is asking is not cold box design but technology to separate CO from syn gas mixture of H2/CO.
The gas which you are referring will have H2/CO/CO2/CH4/N2 if SMR source, if the source of syn gas is gasifier, you will also have Ar,many other impurities like HCn and sulfur impurities. The basic route you are searching will be =
Gas source -->CO2 removal-->Cold box or membrane unit to separate H2/CO/CH4.
The CB or membrane unit performance will depend on CO concentration in gas. Typically gasifire route will have higher CO 42~48% & from SMR 22~28%. Refer following site -
