Can anyone please tell me about what splitter really is? how does it work? the advantages and disadvantages of splitter? I tried to search it everywhere but it seems so hard to find an explanation for industrial splitter. thanks. :)

Dear Restikhairina

Component splitters have no meaning in industry, save separating unit operations. For example a component splitter can be utilized to separate H2S from a gas stream. It is obvious that no equipment can do so. Instead a sweetening plant is emploied to carry out the job. To make it short, splitters are some simple artificial unit operations in which a more complex unit operation would be simplified in prelimanry design or where traces of a certain material put the simulation in trouble.
