Hi,
For understanding the concepts involved in separator sizing (2 phase/3 phase, vertical/horizontal), I will suggest to visit the library and see if you can find some Process Design Handbooks where basics are explained for various phases separation from others. Separator sizing (process design) and pressure vessel design are not same topics, as pressure vessel sizing is very broad subject and since you are new to industry concentrate on basics like separator process design, line sizing, pump hydraulics etc.
