Dear All,
We plan to install two 45 tph superheated steam boilers based on circulating fluidized bed technology. The design is based on a coal with 6 % sulphur and around 35 % ash content. Our designer is of the view that soot blowing mechanism is not required for 45 tph boilers. However, we believe that soot blowers are required for frequent cleaning of tubes.
My question, therefore is, "Are soot blowers necessary irrespective of the boiler size or if there is a size limit below which soot blowers are not essential". Please note that we are discussing about circulating fluidized bed boilers running 100 % on coal.
Hoping for an early response.
