I would like to inform you that we have a power plant consists of four steam turbine and nine Gas turbine. Gas turbine coupled with five Heat recovery steam generations each two gas turbine can only coupled by one HRSG generated steam to supply steam to a common header. The pressure and temperature of steam header are 10.6KG/CM2 and 186 degree Celsius respectively. One of our HRSG is design to trip at certain pressure which is below 9KG/cm2 of the common steam header.
If one or two HRSG tripped this trip lead the HRSG which is design to trip at certain pressure to trip whereas these HRSG supply steam to the desalinations units.
The question
We are looking to change the setting pressure which is below 9KG/CM2 in order to avoid the trip but hammering will occur for common header how do we avoid this?
