Dear Experts,
I am designing tank of size 77m Column supported fixed cone roof & observed that i have to refer Sect F.7 as per Fig:F-1.
Therefore for cal. of participating area i have to follow sect : F.5.1.My concern is :-
1 As per this formula : requires very high compression area.Which seems to be very unusual. Please suggest.
2 DLR : is the nominal weight of roof plate & attached framing. Now my question is since it is column supported therefore complete weight of roof plate & framing should not come as specified in API 650 sect : F.5.1 because columns will also share those weights. So only those weights which are actually coming on shell should be considered. Please give your idea for this matter.
3 Or no need to check participating area straight way provide Top curb angle say L150x10 greater than as specified in Sect : 5.10.6 .
4 If answer is no to question in S.No.3 then as per Fig F-1 what arrangement should be considered.
Approx. Weights are as follows just for your reference :
Shell 647 MT
Roof Plate 232 MT
Roof Structure Column Supported 350 MT
Platforms 23 MT
Please suggest,
Regards,
