I am currently trying to simulate a 32km pipeline using pipesys in hysys.
But whenever i enter the 32km length as the pipeline length, it says stepsize failure.
question 1:do i have to break the 32km length into segments and assume elevations or does it make sense to specify the whole 32km length at once?
please i need help

Hi,
Below are some inputs you need to revisit to check the consistency,
1. What method you are selecting on "Methods" Tab? (You forgot to specify the fluid type gas/liquid)
2. Elevations profile : need to recheck the pipeline geometric inputs such as pipe size (diameter) and physical characteristics. Heat transfer related inputs to be specified properly.
3. "Stepsize" Tab, make sure that the default values have no issues with your simulation.

Let me know if problem still persists.
