Hi all,
I was just wondering if there was a standard that covered piping ultrasonic thickness testing. I'm looking at doing some for a condition monitoring program and all I can find are ISO standards regarding weld NDT. If anyone could suggest something I could use as a reference it would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,
Below are the related ASTM standards which defines/elaborate the ultrasonic testing for thickness measurement of vessels, bigger size pipes and welded joints,

1.ASTM E164 - 08 Standard Practice for Contact Ultrasonic Testing of Weldments
2.ASTM E213 - 09 Standard Practice for Ultrasonic Testing of Metal Pipe and Tubing

Addition to the above list, you can get a copy of these books to understand the test,
1.Ultrasonic Methods of Non-Destructive Testing By Jack Blitz, Geoff Simpson
2.Nondestructive Testing Standards edited by Harold Berger
3.Practical Non-Destructive Testing By Baldev Raj, T. Jayakumar

Hope references provided above are as per your requirement.
