I'm looking for some help calculating the maximum temperature of seal oil after it has passed through a compressor.
I'm not really sure about the best way to model the problem. Basically, I have X kg/h of seal oil passing through compressor with flowrate Y.
The seal oil enters at ~50C and I'm not sure what the dishcarge temperature is (I need to ensure it wont go above 80C). The compressed gas discharge pressure is ~130C. I could workout roughly what I think the contact time between the seal oil is in contact with the gas, but how do I work out how much heat is transferred and the resultant temperature change?
I'm not looking for someone to do this for me, just a point in the right direction.

Bert,
Ask the compressor vendor. He usually provides the lube/seal oil cooler, too.

In my opinion, the heat transfer rate depends on compressor geometry (seal area in particular) as well, which I don't think we can obtain easily.
