Hi all

I am currently working on a steam boiler project and requires the calculation of water to steam ratio with given temperature and pressure.

Could anyone give me some hints on how to calculate it at equilibrium state?

Thank you so much!

I happened to find this equation from online sources. Is it applicable for my situation?

<from Irving Langmuir>
mass loss rate / unit area = (vapor pressure-ambient pressure) sqrt (molar mass/2 pi R T)

Thanks a lot!

hi Breizh, thanks for your reply.

I am calculating the amount of water that could be knocked-out after the K.O. Drum and now sourcing for suitable formula.

I have the following on-line data from K.O. Drum:
Gas side pressure: 3796 kpag
Temperature: 188 deg. C

By using the formula that I found on web, I found that the theoretical water knocked shall be 931kg/m2 s, which is even larger than the water present in the gas according to design data.

Would somebody please give me some hints how the calculation can be done please?

Thanks!

Hi,
mass and heat balances to be performed !

The data seems not correct ( P& T for the gas phase) , at least post the design data .

Breizh

May I know what design data you are referring to?

Thanks

I thought you have reference document as you quote 'design data" in your post #4 .
Sorry If I misunderstood your post.
Breizh.
