Flash Vacuum Distillation

Hello,
Is anyone familiar with flash vacuum distillation. In the production of polyolefins the polymer is dropped out of solution by simply reducing the pressure and evaporating the solvent. This is possible because this is a high temp/pressure polymerization. What if I want to precipitate the polymer out of formic acid where I do not want to heat the solution.
Can an exper answer this?
