Hi Friends,

I am doing an analysis in Pipenet and I am trying to understand the concept of Simple and Complex Forces option in Pipenet.

I am configuring the Pipenet file for forces along a bend in the piping system. It is a 90 degree bend and I want to calculate the forces across it. I am using Pipenet version 1.41. I go to the bottom table and select the option for ‘Forces’. In the same option, I select ‘Complex Forces’ and then select Pipe P1 and P2.

Till here it is fine. Later, there is an option in which we have to determine the ‘Vector’ in the X, Y or Z direction and generally the option X is put as -1 and 1 if we select 2 pipes. Could you let me know how to determine the values of these vectors as any changes I make, creates a huge impact on the results of these forces.

Pipe X Y Z
P1 -1 0 0
P2 1 0 0
