I'm currently working on a final project. I have an SCDS column currently set up as an absorber. The feed is a product from a gasifier (CO2, H2, CH4, and CO) and the absorbent is a model of oil (C11-C20). The column works fine, converges, no errors or anything. But for some reason, when i try to size it, i click through the windows of options, and then ChemCad just sits there. It doesn't output anything. Does anyone know why this happens and/or what i can do to fix it? I've attached the file, all the way left i was experimenting with a straight tower and couldn't get it to work, the middle is just the absorber, and the right is the entire process i'm working with (edit: i don't think i can upload the file, sorry). Thanks a bunch

I wouldn't use the sizing in Chemcad. Instead, go to the Koch website and you can download a good column sizing program. If you want to use the Chemcad routine, go to their website and ask for help. Or, read the manual.

You cannot do the sizing if you choose SCDS, try tower instead.

Aaronicus, are you still working on this project?

ezralh - you can do sizing on both the SCDS and TOWR UnitOps in CHEMCAD.
