Hi
Could any body help me in designing a distillation column to separate diesel and kerosen by distillation? I have to do sizing regarding to height and diameter of the column. Hysys doesnt have these two component and I couldnt find any equilibrium data for this mixture......
please advise me if you have any suggestions.....

Hysys can't give you these components because kero and diesel are a mixture of components not single components! So you will also not find equilibrium data for this mixture! To make such a simulation in hysys you have to use pseudocomponents and generate these by using the properties of the feed. this sounds like a homework problem to me.

If you find out the composition of kerosene and diesel, you might understand why. If you have found out and still need advice on using hysys, you can still come back here.
