Good Day all,
Im doing a project now that requires me to produce acrylonitrile from ammonia, air and propylene. We are required to produce our own supple of propylene from propane. I did some research and i found some methods to accomplish this. Im thinking about using either the catofin or oleflex method, however I am findingit difficult to get the operational temperatures and pressures of the hydrogen recovery unit. Can anyone assist in this regard? If you have any opinion on what method i should use for the conversion of propane to propene, I would also gratefully accept.
Regards,
Sabrina..

Oleflex is less complex than Catofin. If you search google for elliot compressors for petrologisticts, you can get some information about the recovery process.

Hi Sabrina.
What exactly do you mean with "produce our own supple of propylene from propane"?
Propane Dehydrogenation is a Licensed Technology. In my knowledge, the following Technologies are available on the market:
UOP, Lummus / CB&I, Uhde, LINDE, ENI.
I've read that there are currently 10 propane dehydrogenation plants in operation and they make up nearly 3% of the world’s propylene supply.
I'm interested in your project since, 30 years ago, I've done my experimental thesys working 2 years on the development of new catalysts for "Propane Ammonoxidation" to produce Acrylonitrile. It was a very formative experience.
Kind regards and good luck.

Sabrina,
....Anyway, Hydrogen Recovery is a different item.
Maybe you're thinking to either a PSA or a Membrane plant.
I've experience on both processes and maybe I can help you.
Please feel free to contact me thru the "messenger" icon in the black strip at top of your Chemresources page.
Kind regards
