Dear

i need help to make calculation on these evaporator

evaporator have thermo compresor

P&ID is in attachment

my asking inputs are

10 000 kg / hr

temp of input material is 60 C

input is 8 Bx

asking output is 55 Bx

Question is

could this machine do this?

what vacuum pump is needed ( there is no known data about vacuum pump )

what type of condenser is best for these purpose ( there is no condenser )

thanks for your help

Im not exactly sure why there is no answer but I suspect that its because parts of the diagram is in german (I think) and google translate cant seem to translate it either. Eg: dampafsch is also untranslatable in google, as is dunsap tank... Droge stoff translated to dry oven, and I've no idea what that means here.

Hi

Firstly, the question is not very clear and the P&ID is not helping that much. However, from general understanding the thermo compressor is a steam jet ejector vacuum system. The motive fluid will be steam.

What you need to do is to calculate the amount of water vapour / vapour to be remove when you concentrating your liquor. Once you determine the amount of vapour to be removed, only then you will be able to size your vacuum pump. In this case your vacuum pump will be your thermo compressor. You need to know the amount of vapour to be removed by the vacuum.

To design vacuum pump you need:

1. Temperature and pressure of motive fluid (Steam in your case)

2. suction pressure inside the suction chamber.

3. Type of condensor ( Surface condensor or direct contact in this case)

4. Number of stages required to reach the desired vacuum (Maybe 2stage or 3 stage)

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards

Mabhiza
