Hi guys,

I would like to know how can i create compressor curve in HYSYS with the data given by vendor (attached: compressor curve). from the data received (figure 3.1a) the curve is discharge pressure  vs Volume flow (ACFM). the problem is the input data in HYSYS compressor curve is volume flow and head (attached: HYSYS data input). my question is what is the head in the hysys means?? is it total head??? can anyone here show me how can we get the head value in HYSYS from the curve that ive received from vendor.

Thanks....

Please request the compressor vendor to provide head vs inlet volume curve for for 75 -105% of rpm.

The problem is this is the brownfield project where we need to do debottlenecking studies. this is the only data that we have and we need to check on the gas handling facilities whether it can accomodate more gas in the future production. Isnt there any way to develop head value from discharge pressure?

You obviously have HYSYS. Use it to convert pressure to head.

It's not as straightforward as it sounds.

Pump/Compressor heads are differential in nature. Discharge pressure is not.

I think you have to know the suction pressure first before you can generate your head vs flow curve

The head can be collected - by using suction pressure, mol wt, k, and z. The discharge pressure and efficiency are available in the graph. After calculating the head, use affinity laws to calute the head at different speeds. All the best.

Hi ikramreduzan

The Head value in HYSYS comp curve as what Dacs has mention, is the differential Head value

means if you wanted to convert from Discharge Pressure value to Diff Head value you have to had a suction pressure value

Which I believe you will have.

You can utilized HYSYS to calculate this, as it would be easier

and you can utilized single curve so you don't have to generate several curve of different speed

However, you should be aware if you are using single curve you have to input a minimum requirement as per enclosed
