Hello guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows the typical filtration velocity (m³/h/m²) of LPG in a sand filter (coalescer) for coalescing the water droplets? I'm looking for this information but i can't find it in anywhere.

The LPG treatment process I'm studying is like:

Caustic extractor vessel - water wash vessel - coalescer vessel with sand bed.

Thanks!

From plants I have come across, the typical velcoity is around 5 to 6 usgpm/ft2 across the sand filter for caustic removal in LPG Merox .

thanks

Thanks for your answer!

I would like to know if you also know the typical space velocity (sand volume/ LPG volume/h) or another information that could help me with the design of a coalescer with sand bed. Do you know any literature about this?

Thanks!
