Dear friends

how can I simulate a gas jet ejectors in Aspen Hysys?  

I used two expanders instead of the Nozzels of Motive Inlet and Suction inlet,

and then heater and mixer instead of mixing tube part,

and then a compressor for diffuser part of Ejector.

But I don't know how to define duty of expanders?

There are so many variables to consider (nozzle size, mixing chamber length, angle of expander) that we don't normally do sizing by ourselves.

 

Instead we pass this work to ejector vendors.

Is this just an exercise or an actual project requirement that you do?

There is also a ejector extension in HYSYS 7.3.

For ejector modeling in Hysys, what property method should we use if the component is only water? Thank you

This has nothing to do with ejectors themselves, but on Hysys, you can use ASME Steam for your Property Package.

 

Just for the info of everyone, the Ejector utility in Hysys seems to be a "proof of concept" on how to create Hysys extensions and I believe that they won't be offering any support/warranties (i.e. use at our own risk) for it.
