Hi everyone in this forum
I 'm learning the pinch technology now . I don't know how to insert a process in to a exsiting heat exchange network, and I don't know if there is some information about the grand composite curve and how to draw it ?
thank you very much.I really really appreciate your help !

hey!

if you have some more time on your hands, then please read up Douglas' Process Design. He explains in significant depth.

The pinch technology came into being not too long ago (about 10-20 years back)... so if you want to get good stuff... you may want to read up books which are newer than that.

One book from an EXPERT in pinch technology is "Heat Exchanger Network Synthesis: Process Optimization by Energy and Resource Analysis" written by Dr. U V Shenoy. This guy is awesome for pinching...

good luck!

Hey,
Pinch is not that hard i guess, all you gotta do is get calculate your heating and cooling duties required and you get your grand composite curve. The best way to do the pinch analysis is on HYSYS it give you the whole heat exchange network with curves as well.
Cheers
