given by ppm? you just convert it to mass fraction then input it.

no problem with conversion

i'm just asking if the gas composition was given 100% without water

and water was given by ppm

elegenedy,

You have not clarified whether you are mentioning a liquid stream or gas stream without water. You need to clarify this first.

Assuming that you are describing a gas stream on a dry basis (without water) then you need to configure two streams in HYSYS. Stream 1 will be gas stream on dry basis and Stream 2 will be water. The two streams will then enter a mixer block in HYSYS. The outlet stream of the mixer block (Stream 3) will be your gas stream on wet basis (with water).

Regards,

Ankur.

Ankur

i'm already describing a gas stream

assuming that the gas stream in dry conditions is 4.5 MMSCFD @ 195 psi, & 88 oF

Components - Mol %

 Nitrogen - 0.421

 Methane - 49.330

 Carbon Dioxide - 7.638

 Ethane - 14.554

 Propane - 17.225

 i-Butane - 3.165

 n-Butane - 4.787

 i-pentane - 1.142

 n-Pentane - 0.937

 Hexane - 0.530

 Benzene - 0.010

 Heptane - 0.154

 Toluene - 0.016

 Octane - 0.060

 Ethyl-benzene - 0.002

p.m-xylene - 0.005

 o-xylene - 0.003

 Nonane - 0.016

 Decane plus - 0.005

 Total - 100.000

Mol Wt = 30.228

Sp Gr (Air =1.0000) = 1.0437

Eq. Liquid Density = 0.4105 g/ml

water content was 10,792 ppm @ 30 psi, 54.5 f

please describe how could i simulate this in hysys

thanks for your help .

regards,

elgenedy

10792 ppm is 1.0792%

Add that to your 100%

Total

100.000

You will get 101.0792%

Normalize everything to 100%

These will be the new percentages you input into hysys.

As you might have observed, I'm totally disregarding the temperature and pressure given by you since your values , units and its degree of accuracy seem to imply you are reading these values from some GC analyzer? If so, then it doesnt matter what temperature and pressure you are reporting anyway.

If not, you can just make 2 streams with those specs at those temperature and pressure then use the MIX unit module. Simplest method.
