Dear all

In case of safety relief valve for liquid, there's "Q" in the equation of required effective discharge area.
Q is flow rate in US gal/min but I really don't know what flow rate should assumed as Q, I use min flow of pump but I'm not sure about it.

Regards

Hey Ali,

Without a drawing it is difficult to understand what you are talking about. But from what I can gather, I am assuming you are trying to determine PSV size in the outlet of a pump and the equation you are using requires you to provide the flow through the PSV. If my assumption is correct, you probably should  try to determine the maximum flow and the pump curve can help on this.

Hope this helps

Ali,

It was better you did submit your query in "Relief Devices" forum...

However, please provide a simple sketch of the system along with the supportive information to enable providing proper response...
