Through the years, I have used many versions of Aspen Plus, but my employer recently upgraded to v.8.2, and it crashes very frequently (5 times today in about 5 hours of use). It could be due to problems on the computer that the software is installed on, so I wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this. I've never encountered this with any of the previous versions of Aspen Plus that I have used. In general, the program also seems sluggish in responding to commands. I have already generated a ticket on the AspenTech support site, but I was curious whether this problem has been widely observed or is an isolated incident. Comments?

It could be just simply be that your computer is old, outdated hardware. Or maybe it is just insufficient ram. Does it crash on the same thing? If so it could be a bug. I've always found it useful to run the simulations on more powerful computers especially on larger, more complicated flowsheets.
