Hi everyone...

I am modelling the Blast and overpressure in a onshore gas plant for Vapour cloud emmision & BLEVE.

I am using DNV Phast for this (TNO multi energy model).

The problem is, I can't find impulse vs distance curve for VCE model where as it is available for BLEVE model.

Plz let me know if you have some solution to get the Impusle vs distance curve for VCE model.

Thank!!!!

Dear

TNO model is for confined & unconfined vapor cloud explosion and it is not usable for BLEVE, but there is a specific model for BLEVE in phast,

For normal refinery plants for VCE you can use curve no. 5, 7 (based on EXXON Mobil Recommendation) and 5.6 and 6 (Based on TOTAL).

Bests

Hi

1.Probably you do not fully understand the process of BLEVE.

2. Pressure vessel explodes due to weakening of the pressure vessel wall. You can get impulse from this ecplosion

3. Followed by massive release of burning vapor cloud and the burning vapor cloud forms a fire ball moving upwards.

4. Therefore, what important in BLEVE is the heat flux from the fire ball.
