Dear all,
I have following queries related to liquid ring vacuum pump.
We are using LRVP to maintain vacuum in our plant.we are planning to install VFD due to low load on pump. However in vacuum pump minimum impeller tip speed is to be maintained to keep liquid ring intact in pump.My question is how to calculate it.following data might be useful.
actual vapor load: 11 nm3/hr ( calculated by leakage rate calculation)
Designed load : 88 nm3/hr
motor amp.: 37 (actual reading of meter)
Rated kw : 30 kw
pump RPM : 985

I would also like to know that installing VFD will serve the purpose of power saving.

Dear breizh,

Thanks for the references provided by you. Second reference suggest testing method for checking minimum impeller speed however it will be of great help if any theoretical calculation is available as it will not disturb running plant.
