Turbine Adiabatic Efficiency

In my job, power plant process basic design, I assume turbine performance is explained with adiabatic efficiency. 

But I think there is criteria of limit of efficiency according to some factors (Inlet pressure, flow rate, temperature, RPM, etc.)

Is there any simple approach or method to assume possible adiabatic efficiency?

Turbine vendors supply curves for adiabatic (isentropic) efficiency as function of RPM and flow rate.

 

I suggest you check the vendor data that your company must have collected through the years from previous projects they did.

Or simply contact some vendors and ask for brochures that contain efficiency data.

 

I suspect that big steam turbines used in power plants will have an adiabatic efficiency in the order of 85 - 90 %.
