Hello,

Does anyone have a spreadsheet setup to calculate compression polytropic efficiency via Schultz method?

 

I'm following the logic described by Mark R. Sandberg: https://imgur.com/a/h8zAWm2

 

Attached is my attempt as an Excel spreadsheet. I'm not having much success with a calculated value for the polytropic efficiency of 27% (actual is 71.4%). Any feedback is highly appreciated. Thanks

This may or may not help, its for steam, sorry i cant send the spreadhseet as some props are using a steam

All good I figured it out. Issue was applying a numerical approximation to the partial derivatives dV_dP and dV_dT. Using the exact values now and getting excellent results for the calculated polytropic efficiency, thanks for the feedback, cheers
