Hello Everyone

 

Would appreciate if I get little help from Blog Members.

I size two phase horizontal separator using VMSim but got very small value of L/D like 2.2.I want to know what are the typical values of L/D ratio so that I can match my results if i'm wrong or rigth.Moreover can anyone have Sizing spread sheet for Horizontal vessel to download.Thanks

Dear Engineer87,

refer to GPSA, typical L/D ratio is in the range of 2:1 until 4:1.

then your VMSim L/D ratio result is within the GPSA range.

If you visit my site (Google my name) use the sample you find at the home page to size your separator. It will give you the optimum size. Leave a note and let me know how it compares to your sizing with GPSA. Be sure you replace all the parameters, including liquid holdup. It will help if you read the help file before you start.
