Dear all,
why we cannot use the Schultz method but only by Reference method(Huntington) when calculating the the efficiency or polyropic head of a compressor?

Sacarove,
Why is your post titled "wet gas compressor"? Do you want to compress wet gas - that is, a gas-liquid mixture?

for wet gas you need to solve H, S , phase equilibria,
you can't with both Schultz or Huntington (see the original papers for the details about these methods),
with the so called reference method you can only estimate final conditions when there is a liquid phase
(at each step the procedure estimates the amount and composition of vapor),
much better to use a specific method which is applicable to both vapor and liquid phases,,
see for example the method PSPF() in Prode Properties

Hi Marchem,
Thank you very much.
Do you know how much this prode deviates from hysys if I have a gas fraction not less than 95%?
Thanks

typical liquid amounts are well below 5% for standard compressors to avoid mechanical damages,
if you are working on some subsea pumping station then use the method in Prode Properties which
can work with ANY liquid amount (up to 100% liquid).
