Hello Everybody,
I am a young process engineer currently assigned with the task of calculating the temperature profile of an adsorption vessel during a regeneration process. We are interested in finding out what is the temperature distribution through the whole steel vessel during a high temperature heating up process which goes stepwise from 80°C to 500°C.
I suspect this is no steady heat transfer calculation, but rather transient heat transfer in which i have no experience at all.
The regeneration procedure is done by heating up the adsorption bed with Steam and subsequently with superheated steam to up to 500°C. The question is how to calculate the temperature on different sections of the reactor. I have the idea of dividing the vessel in different sections and calculating the temperature for each section step wise, this could result perhaps with a temperature distribution through the whole vessel. As for the time factor, i will need to look it up in some literature references.
I would highly appreciate some guidance in this topic, especially some literature references, or your experience with these type of calculations.
Best regards,
Miguel
