Gents,

I am a newbie to Hysys and learning some fundamental concepts in the simulation environment. My question concerns converting mass flow rates and volumemetric flow rates in hysys. While it is a simple calculation to do manually given the right parameters, I am trying to understand how this can be achieved in Hysys.

How to use the Adjuster

Say I have a gas stream assume methane. I would like to achieve an actual volume flow of say 5 m3/hr on the inlet stream. So I define a stream I feed in the temp, pressure, and mol% of methane (i.e 1.0) and put an adjuster on this stream. In the adjuster I select the adjusted variable as mass flow rate (kg/hr) and I say target variable as actual vol flow (m3/hr) . I then define an arbiarty value for mass flow say 1kg/hr and run the adjuster.

The problem: I do not get a value of 5 m3/hr under the properties sheet in Actual vol flow. The value is something totally different and off.

What is it that I am doing wrong and how can I go about using the adjuster correctly.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Ums

So I figured this one out playing around on this for the past 45 minutes...it was the tolerance connected to the adjuster...it was too loose and on tightning the number I was able to accomplish what I was requiring
