Dear members,

In the clients' datasheet for heater design, the average radiant flux is given as 10,000 Btu/h-ft2. I am using 3 times NPS as the spacing between tubes instead of the normal consideration of 2 times in the radiant section.

Should the calculated average allowable flux be 10,000 Btu/h-ft2 in the heater rating? I believe it will be higher than that. If different from 10,000 then how should I determine what flux is required?

Thanks and Regards,

Chandra Prakash Lohia
