I am a student which my final year project is to design Phthalic Anhydride Plant of 90,000MTA.
I have a few question:
1.What is the purity of o-xylene that normally the PA industry employ?
2. What type of molten salt bath is being used? HiTech? If possible, is there physical properties available for the molten salt that are being used? From my literature, HiTech molten salt should have heat capacity 1560 J/kg K. Is the heat capacity consider high enough to resist high temperature changes and enable small temperatures difference between the reaction fluid and the molten salt?
3.What is the overall heat transfer coefficient of the multitubular reactor cooled by salt bath?
4.What is the typical conversion and yield of the process?
5. I wish to study the production of PA in extreme detail. Is there any reference which describe the equipment and process design of PA?
