Dear All,

I want to know about tuning parameters of PID controllers. I generally assume P in PID for flow control as 0.1 secs  , D as 0.2 and ignore D in PID. for pressure control , P is 2 &  I is 2 secs. Is this correct for all controllers of flow and pressure?

Regards

A great resource on controller tuning is Bela Liptak's "Instrument Engineers' Handbook, VOL.2 - Process Control and Optimization", Section 2.35.

A single set of PID parameters simply cannot be applied for all controllers. Each system possesses different characteristics, hence it is impossible to have them treated equally.
