Pingpong, silesar, silvershaded and other generous contributors, for a  conceptual design/estimate, sizing of an ATR(oxygen-blown autothermal reformer) vessel (operated at high pressure close to 40-50 bara) wanted to know is there is any industrial thumbrukle to estimating the catalyst volume an dreactor volume of the ATR vessel, using say the Normal flow rae of the reacting gas mixture(incling NG feed and oxygen) or any such formula. This is needed to guesstimate costs of the ATR vessel. Suppose I have say 1000 Normal m3 of NG+oxygen at ATR inlet at a pressure of 45 bara and with typical exit temperatures(approx. 1000C), are there any heuristics-based thumbrules to quickly size the ATR pressure vessel?

Hi,

Let you Google: sizing of an ATR (oxygen-blown autothermal reformer) vessel.

A bunch of info available.
