Hey guys.

We are trying to estimate a price for a packed bed reactor PBR. (without catalyst).

The estimation only needs to be very rough/simple.

We have found the following dimensions for the reactor:

Dimensions

  • Number of tubes: 300
  • Inner diameter of tubes: 8.2 cm.
  • Length of tubes: 8 meter

The total volume of the reactor is 12.1 m3

Does anyone have a link to a formula or a figure used to make price estimation? We haven't been able to find anything, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

(According to this page the price can be estimate in Plant Design and Economics for Chemical Engineers , 5th ed figure 15.12, but our librabry doesn't have the book unfortunately.)

Thank for the help, the estimation only need to be very rough.

-Alex

hi ,
hope this will help (4th edition) , assuming similarities between Reactor bed and shell and tubes HX .

For inflation rate you should correct with the proper CEPCI ratio ( 2015/ 1991) or = ( 573/361) =1.59

Note : Let you try Google " Reactor bed cost estimate"

Good luck
