Dear All,

I am looking for ways to enhance my career through professional certifications, programs, classes, etc. I am a young engineer (2 yrs exp) working in the midstream sector of the oil & gas industry. I have been working as a process/mechanical engineer, designing  pump, compressor, meter and regulating facilities. I also do a bit of pipeline hydraulics occasionally . I am planning to eventually take the PE examination when the time comes, but until then I want to take advantage of any learning opportunities that are out there to help facilitate the work that I do.

Any suggestions or recommendations of any industry programs, certifications, or classes that may be beneficial?

Best Regards,

Will

Learn what you want, at your own pace. Certifications are useless. PE license is not necessary for a Chemical Engineer, but you might get it anyway. I worked 40+ years without the need for such license. Learning to program in C# or Visual Basic is worthwhile, too. Even Excel VBA. Don't waste time with clunky spreadsheets with their attendant mess of formulas.
