hi all,

i am working at a boutique distillery and am trying to create a spreadsheet to increase efficiency of production.

We currently measure the distillate from the still with an Alcometer and then need to add filtered water to bring it to a strength of 43% ABV.

Currently we convert the measured reading to a 'calibrated' reading at 20degC and then its a rather rough process of adding water and rechecking until the spirit is at the required ABV.

I basically want to create an excel spreadsheet to enter the measured reading and have it automatically calculate the amount of filtered water to add to the distrillate to bring it to the required ABV.

I am currently trying to get a hold of a copy of the table attached that is compatible to import into excel and create a formula.

Does anyone know of where i can obtain a 'cleaner' copy of these tables in PDF form?

Or does anyone else have any suggestions?

How do you measure the filtered water for the dilution?  Do you measure mass, mass flow rate, volume, or volumetric flow rate?

Thanks guys,

We currently only do smaller volumes, So measure the quanty of spirit and its Abv, And then add a volume of water to it to bring it to 43%
