Dear All,

I have a question related to citing engineering standards for academic reasons. I'm unsure if I am allowed to cite engineering standards such as Iranian Petroleum Standards or NORSOK for my thesis. These standards can be downloaded from the internet via google search. The links are as follows:

http://igs.nigc.ir/S...PS/e-in-100.PDF

http://www.standard..../1132/p-100.pdf

I would like to have your opinion on this matter.

Regards,

Victor

I can't see any problems with that. Just make sure that the standard(s) you quote are applicable to the subject. Norsok was developed mainly for offshore E&P. I have referred to IPS standards on many occasions.

Victorvikram,

A professional that use the information, always gives the source. This permits corroboration of others.

Napo.
