Hi, I am trying to get an idea of what could cause the following in the steel pipes. In the photos you will see the build up, and this is after 1 week of operating. I am told the only chemicals being injected into the water are oxygen scavengers, but I do not know the exact chemicals. Could someone shed some light on what they think is going on? The pipe in the photo is standard black Schedule 40 pipe. Thank you.

Oxygen causes honey comb like corrosion. The above photos are somewhat different. Have you analyzed the material? If so can you give the composition of the corrosion material?
