I have to design a pool condenser (condenser as gas-liquid direct contact heat exchager) for my college project. Does any one have the theory related for pool condensation and design for that Or can anyone recommend any related book or something. I am doing this for the pool condenser used for urea poroduction process.

Inside the pool condenser ammonia and carbondioxide gases condense (near the cooling water tubes inside the pool condenser)  to liquid ammonium carbamate and then in the liquid phase ammonium carbamate dehydrates into urea and water. Can I design this as a gas-liquid reactor? If so can anyone provide me the kinetic parameters of urea formation reactions.

Both reactions occur at 140 bar pressure and 175 degree Celsius temperature.

So, you have an academic project that you are expected to execute. And you want us to do it for you? That's not how the world operates. So, do your research, execute your project. Then you can tell us how you did it.

Actually I search throughout the internet and couldnot find any theory related to pool condensation. I also searched for a related book in weeks.

I actually didn't ask any of you to do it for me.Please read what I have mentioned. I just asked you guys for some recommended book or any website that I missed etc. as this is not a commonly found equipment. And some little advice for a student.

Hi ,

If you can get access to the link above you should find a lot of very good information about heat transfer and technology .
