Hi I have have found a past paper question for an oil and gas module that I cant answer, does anyone know the source of corrosion on the attached photo? Corrosion has been highlighted in the pink areas, the process is at the front end of a refinery, any tips on controlling the corrosion would also be appreciated.Attached File  Capture.PNG   90.85KB   2 downloads

efg1259,

You can review the "API Recommended Practice 571: Damage Mechanisms Affecting Fixed Equipment in the Refining Industry", Chapter 5, p. 67., or "Petroleum Refinery Engineering" by Nelson, 4th. edition.
