What do you mean by "liquid full"?  Full of WHAT?

Are you referring to the two basic designs of mechanical refrigeration:

  • DX - direct expansion, where the expansion valve is used to supply enough cool liquid refrigerant in the vaporizer to wet the heat transfer coils; or
  • submerged coils - where vaporizer is a coil submerged in a pool of cool liquid refrigerant?

Please be specific when describing your process and use a detailed sketch to facilitate the description, eliminating acronyms, using a minimum of words.  Graphics is the international language of engineers.

Chiller can't be liquid full because the working principle of chiller is to do heat transfer maximizing the use of latent heat. There is liquid and vapor inside.
