Hello everyone

I would like to know the formula for polytropic head calculation in HYSYS. Does any body know that?

I don't believe HYSYS uses a formula. The calculation for compressor parameters is accomplished using an equation of state of your choosing. You should find some background in your users manual.

Mohsen,

Gas thermodynamic laws are derived from first principles of physics and whether the calculation is done on a piece of paper, in excel or using a simulation software the equations remain the same.

However, if you are looking to a quick reference for a formula, refer the link below (post #11):

http://www.cheresour...mpressor-power/

And you will find the same in HYSYS or any other simulation software for a given set of units.

Regards,

Ankur.
