During Shutdown in MEROX unit , Hydrocarbon in C3/C4/C5 systems  are displaced by caustic filling and overflowing to OFF Spec vessels and then the caustic is recovered by pressurizing with Nitrogen to DSO Separator. Since the DP across is system is only 2 bar, recovery rate is slow and time consuming.

My query is can we use C1 Gas to pressurize the C3/C4/C5 system with fuel gas and recover caustic?

If C1 used, then 1. Can C1 gas dissolve in 40 deg c caustic and get carried to DSO Seperator ? DSO separator is vented to atmosphere during recovery process. so if C1 dissolves, it cant be vented to atmosphere....

Note: caustic after recovery is heated to 40 deg in hot oil exchanger and then to DSO separator from where it is pumped backed to system for filling in other hydrocarbon  extractors.
