Hi,

I am currently working on design a project of a shale gas processing plant. And I reached point where I need to calculate the energy balance of the worst  case scenario for the plant [ To check the feasibility of the plant before integrating the utilities], the problem is that I am not sure how to carry out the energy balance as I have all the process operating at 10 bar and above. Is it only a matter of finding the actual value of heat capacity through the reduced pressure and temperature and then calculating the enthalpy based on that value?

Regards,

Faisal.

So, how are you doing this? Are you using a process simulator like HYSYS?

We are using HYSYS and then we'll compare it with the calculations we've done manually
